This Day In History (October 8th): Austin Wins Sixth & Final WWF Championship

On this day in professional wrestling history (October 8th, 2001), WWF presented RAW #437 from the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.  This episode is mostly remember for as the title suggests, Stone Cold Steve Austin winning his sixth & final WWF Championship.

Austin’s final reign would last a little over 2 months, he would lose the title to Chris Jericho in a title unification match at Vengeance 2001.  Jericho won the WCW Championship from The Rock the match prior.  The 2 titles would be merged to the Undisputed WWF Championship.
