This Day In History (October 3rd): Raw: Homecoming

On this day in professional wrestling history (October 3rd, 2005), WWE presented Monday Night Raw from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.

This episode is mostly remembered for 2 big things.  1.) It marked the WWE’s return to the USA Network after spending the past 5 years with Spike TV.  2.) It also marked a trend that still continues to this day, it was the first three hour Raw in history.

    • Ashley Massaro & Trish Stratus defeated Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson & Victoria in a Two on Three Handicap Bra & Panties Match.
    • John Cena defeated Eric Bischoff to retain the WWE Championship
