This Day In Wrestling History (September 26th): Spike TV’s Last Raw

On January 11th, 1993 WWF premiered Monday Night Raw on the USA Network.  After 382 episodes airing on the USA Network, the WWF had a new home…enter TNN (The Nashville Network).  In August of 2003 TNN would be rebranded to Spike TV, mostly airing predominantly male oriented content.

On March 13th, 2005, Viacom (the parent company for Spike TV) & WWE decided not to renew their relationship and it was on this day in professional wrestling history (September 26th, 2005) that Spike TV held their final episode of Monday Night Raw

Despite Vince McMahon being very cordial towards Spike TV and thanked them for their 5 years together, Spike TV on the other hand didn’t exactly feel the same way.  Spike executives would mute every single mention of the USA Network and would push their new UFC block that would go in direct competition with Raw starting the very next week.
